A note from the author
If you are holding this book, your heart is probably tired. Maybe the phone stopped ringing months ago. Maybe it was years. Maybe it happened last week, and you are still in shock.
I know that place, because I have lived it. When my own child went no contact, it came without warning. I kept bringing one question to God: Where do I go from here?
This book will not promise you that your child will come back. What it will promise is this: Jesus will walk with you every single day, whether the door opens or stays closed.

Day 1: When the Phone Stops Ringing
Read the full first day
"The LORD is near to the brokenhearted And saves those who are crushed in spirit." (Psalm 34:18, NASB)
Maybe it came out of nowhere. Maybe there were warning signs you can only see now. Either way, you woke up one day to a silence you never agreed to.
Since then, you may have reached for your phone a hundred times. You've written messages you never sent, and maybe sent a few you wish you hadn't. You've asked a sibling or a cousin, as casually as you could, "Have you heard from them?"
None of that was foolishness. It was love with nowhere to go.
Now the house feels different. The quiet has a weight to it, and you carry it into every room, every errand, every Sunday morning.
No one prepares you for this kind of silence. When someone dies, people bring food and send cards. When your child stops speaking to you, people often don't know what to say, so they say nothing. And you are left carrying a grief that has no funeral and no end date.
If that is where you are today, hear this: the silence from your child is not silence from God.
Psalm 34:18 does not say God is near to people who have it all together. It says He is near to the brokenhearted. That means your broken heart is not a sign that God has left you. It is the very place He comes closest.
You don't have to fix this today. You don't have to understand it today. You don't even have to pray pretty words today. You only have to let Him be near.
The phone may be quiet. Heaven is not.
Truth to Hold: My child's silence is not God's silence. He is near to my broken heart right now.
Prayer for Me: Lord, You know how much this hurts. I don't have the words, and I don't have the answers. Please come close. Hold what I can't hold, and help me get through today. In Jesus' name, amen.
Prayer for My Child: Father, wherever my child is right now, be near to them too. Watch over their heart, their health, and their steps. Love them in the ways I can't right now. In Jesus' name, amen.
Journal Space: What happened when you first realized your child had gone no contact? Write about that moment honestly. Then write one question you want to bring to God about where to go from here.
